  1. Door Specifications
    1. Typical Sections: Polycarbonate Glazed Aluminum Framed

-   Glazing, 16mm triple-walled clear polycarbonate with UV absorber

 

    1. Stiles and Rails: Side rails shall be .080 inch aluminum, top and bottom rails shall be .080, reinforced to 0.25 inches thick at all stress points, and sloped to eliminate water accumulation.

-   Finish: Aluminum Mill Finish

-   Bottom Rail: Reinforced full-width rail and retaining U-shaped vinyl or rubber astragal.

 

    1. Counter Balance System: “Strap-eze” TM, nylon strap with winding hubs and interlocking weights contained in a PVC tube mounted on one side of the door.

 

    1. Torsion Shaft: Solid galvanized, tempered steel shaft.  Extended one foot beyond edge of door opening.

 

    1. Track:  Hot-dipped galvanized 3” steel securely fastened to jambs by continuous angles inclined to ensure weather-tight closure.  Hinges and roller brackets shall be minimum 11 gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel, formed to provide mounting for rollers at edges of doors and engineered to provide tight contact between sections.  Rollers, as specified below.

 

    1. Rollers:  Heavy-duty steel ball bearing rollers with 7/16” steel stem.

 

    1. Track Reinforcement and Support: Provide corner lift brackets engineered to size and weight of door.  Hardware provided shall satisfy required headroom, sideroom, and backroom conditions, and shall be engineered to size and weight of specified door.  Miscellaneous hardware components, except castings, springs, spring shaft, and cable drum shall be zinc or cadmium plated.  Provide engineered reinforcing in accordance with standard engineering practices

 

    1. Weather Stripping: In addition to integral door bottom, provide wood and vinyl, or vinyl and vinyl perimeter gasket seals at jambs and head, and pile or gasket weather stripping on doors

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Door Upgrades

 

    1. Stainless Steel Hardware: 12 gauge stainless steel hinges, bottom brackets, and top brackets

 

    1. Plastic Hinges: Rust proof, molded plastic hinges

 

    1. Stainless Steel Shaft: 1”, solid, keyed Stainless Steel shaft.  Extended one foot beyond edge of door opening.

 

    1. Stainless Steel Track: 14 gauge, angle mounted, Stainless Steel.  Not available for doors over 12’ high.

 

    1. Stainless Steel Bearing Plates: 12 gauge, Stainless Steel bearing plates.  Available with Stainless Steel Shaft upgrade.

 

    1. Stainless Steel Bearings: 1”, Honed, Stainless Steel zerk bearings

 

    1. Super Glide Rollers: Sealed bearing, Stainless Steel shaft with a UHMW tire

 

    1. Superglide Bearingless Rollers: Stainless Steel shaft, bearingless, with a UHMW tire.  Not recommended for doors over 12 X 12.

 

    1. Nickel Plated Options: Non-corrosive, nickel plated drums, winding hubs, and shaft couplers
